Great Eastern Hotel Quezon City Review

 Great Eastern Hotel

The Great Eastern Hotel Located on Quezon ave is one of the many hotels that are available in QC, being an older hotel then most in the area it is a bit dated but for the price it is worth it. Average room prices run at 1500 peso a night, it also has a newer wing added to it but you will have to pay more for the newer rooms. They offer a discount if you are planing on staying longer then 1 week at 5% so can work out well if you are planning a long trip.

For the rooms themselves i found that the air conditioning keeps it cool but does not make it as cold as most people would like. They have normal facility such as pool, gym, restaurant and function centers. It is a very popular place for functions because of the price so the lobby is always busy. For some reason i think to save cost they do not run their air conditioning inside the main lobby which makes it a little stuffy at times but it comes with it being a cheaper price then most places in the area.

The location of it makes it easy to get a taxi any time of the day an is safe tot ravel anytime of the day around there most building in the area have security guards every few hundred meters. There are many restaurants in the area an its just a stones throw away from Timog ave which is the main entertainment district in the area an you wont be left wanting for any kind of food with the variety that is on offer. Green hills is also a good place to visit if your staying here as it just a short ride away an not much traffic most times of the day to get there from here. Sm North which is one of the biggest malls in the area is close by as well as Trinorma, both are stock standard Malls for Philippines with Sm North being on par with Mall of Asia in my view.

The internet speed on there local network is good and you wont have any problems with it but don't expect wifi they still only operate on cable. The pool is within the hotel an is nice place to cool off in the afternoon, but along with the hotel the area is dated so do not expect anything fancy just stock standard along with gym an sauna.House keeping an room service is normal nothing to write home about but you get what you pay for end of the day. Also note there is no 7/11 or such located close by so means a walk to Robinson mall about 500m away to buy anything for your daily needs.

All in all i would recommend this hotel if you are traveling on a set budget want some comforts but nothing flash, it is a good place to base yourself out of if you intend to travel around the area but doesn't offer the busy life of area such as Makati. But if you want a quiet place where you are not going be hassled by sellers of Viagra or people offering you massages then this is for you.
